Veech Media Architecture

VMA is a Vienna based internationally operating design and architecture office specializing in areas beyond the boundaries of traditional architecture commited to research, technological innovation and cutting-edge design. The name, Veech Media Architecture, reflects the exploration in both media and architecture disciplines and a new evolving paradigm defining the most powerful medium of communication – „architecture as medium – media as architecture“.

Mascha Veech-Kosmatschof, born in Moscow in 1964, is an architect, director and co-founder of VMA. She studied at the University of Applied Arts in the Master Class of Wilhelm Holzbauer and subsequently at the Architectural Association in London under Jan Kaplicky, Ron Herron and Peter Rice completing the AA Diploma with Zaha Hadid. Parallel to her professional practice, Mascha is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Architecture – University of Applied Arts Vienna since 2001 focussing on research areas of complex urban geometries, digital prototyping and parametric design

Stuart A. Veech, born in Chicago in 1964, is a designer, director and co-founder of VMA. He studied architecture at the Architectural Association London after receiving a diploma in Urban Design from the University of Cincinnati. Stuart has taught at the Vienna University of Technology, Graz University of Technology and held workshops at the University of Innsbruck. From 2007-2009 he was Senior Research Fellow at the Innovation Design Engineering Department of the Royal College of Art – London researching mobile media structures. He has lectured at noted international universities and conferences articulating the fusion of architecture, media and design engineering disciplines.
